Joris Nana Pytsyr Wartemberg was born on 25th December 1951 in Sekondi, a littel town located in the Western region of Ghana. After completing his primary education, the author went on to Achimota High School, one of Ghana’s leading educational institutions, where he finished at the top of his class with distinction in English Literature, Economics and History at Advanced Level. It was also at Achimota School that he wrote his very firt play “Corpse’s Comedy”, published in the early 70’s by Oxford University Press to high acclaim. The book is still studied at final year degree level in University drama and theatre schools in Nigeria, South Africa and other African countries.

Having qualified for tertiary education with really excellent advanced Level results. Joris Wartemberg then went no to read and take an Honours degree in Law at the University of Ghana-Legon.

The author has been self-employed all his life and has consistently refused to be employed to be ‘bossed’ over by anybody - as a matter of principle. It is in furtherance of this desire to ‘always remain his own boss’ that Joris Wartemberg declined to pursue a career in the legal profession. Instead, he has spent most of his years doing business in Egypt, Yemen and many other Arab countries from his base in London, England. Now retired and back at home in Ghana, the author spends his time researching and trying to understand the universe.
